WHAT TO DO

I have been given a free week in an apartment in the area for July, but I would like to know what there is to do in Pilar. Its not that I want to seem ungrateful its just that I do not get much holiday and my time is important to me. So could anyone give me some idea as to what the places is like are there nice places to see and go. I will be there for one week on my own so need lots to do.

Come and have a game of golf at Lo Romero Golf!! Or take a lesson if you don't play.

What a great idea, never thought about a game of golf, but it looks very hard. I think I would like the walk in between hitting the ball but I will give it a try and will contact you to book a lesson.

Can you let me know what you are teaching in your classes, what style and what organization your are affiliated to. My children have been looking for classes since arriving in Spain they have all been training at karate for years in the U.K

I took my kids to the lesson they had at Quesada the other day. I can not tell you the answers to your questions as it all makes no sense to me, but I will say it was a great class and all went well.

Man Utd v Schalke Champions league semi-final

Don´t forget you football lovers out there. A huge game tomorrow night at 20.45 live on ITV 1. It appears a formality for Man Utd, but they need to be careful as the way they played on Sunday anything can happen, nevertheless as a United supporter I have faith in their ability and should be too strong for Schalke. Please add your views on the outcome!!!

Almoradi

Everybody wants to see a great Champions League Final, it will only be great if the 'Mighty Reds' are in it!!
What's the score going to be???

SCHOOLS

Hi, We are moving to the area in the summer and wanted more information on schools in the area. I understand that there is a school in Benijofar and also one in Rojales. My children are 4 and 6.

Hi, Our children attend the schools in Rojales - one is at the institute (high school) and one at the junior school. My youngest has been at the junior school since she was 4 when we moved to Spain and I have always been very happy with the standards there. You have to sometimes accept that things are done differently here. My son is due to leave this year to go to the Institute. I think if you go along to the school (they only speak Spanish so you will need a translator if you dont!) - they will advise you what you need to register.

We put our lad into this school when we first came to Spain he was 13 and did not speak a word of Spanish. His first lesson was History and it was all in Spanish not a word of English was spoken, after 6 months he was fluent and is now a professional translator back in the U.K

He went thought some very frustrating times but it made a man of him and has help him no end for the future.

There are also plenty of opportunities for the children to do sports eg football, gymnastics, tennis outside of school at the polideportivos (sports centres) in Benijofar and Rojales. Both have great football teams for the boys and I believe girls!

My children go to the junior school in Benijofar and we are more than happy with it. The only downside we have is that there is no lunch facility there so the children have to come home whereas from what I hear if they go to Rojales they can stay for lunch.

Commented karen in Almoradi 2011-05-03 09:13:31 UTC

Hi Karen,
We have been living in Almoradi only for a few months and we love it dearly. Our children are too young for school, but have heard the education here is very good. My husband is on contract work and I look after the kids. When we are all together we spend lots of quality time together. Jenny
